At TREX Exploring, we believe in the power of legacy. The Santalucía Seniors Challenge promotes active and positive longevity, selecting five people each year between the ages of 65 and 80 to take on an extreme expedition that challenges the limits of age.
More than an adventure, it is a declaration of intent: to demonstrate that staying active, physically and emotionally, is possible at any age. Through a cross-cutting campaign, with documentary, media presence and network coverage, the Challenge combats the ageism and celebrates the generational diversity.
A transformative experience that highlights the resilience, overcoming obstacles, and wisdom of those who, step by step, leave an indelible mark along the way.

Arctic 2025
In the second edition of the Santalucía Seniors Challenge, Álvaro, Merche, Jesús, Esther, and Bernardo have been selected after a demanding weekend of trials in Denia, where they demonstrated determination, an adventurous spirit, and unstoppable energy. Now they are preparing to face the extreme conditions of Svalbard, carrying his example of an active and positive life to the heart of the Arctic.
Peru 2024
In the first edition of the Santalucía Seniors Challenge, five adventurers: José Antonio, Pepe, Leticia, Pilar, and Álvaro, faced the breathtaking landscapes of the Cordillera Blanca in Peru. They completed trekking and mountain biking before reaching the summit of Mount Vallunaraju, at an altitude of 5,686 meters. A transformative experience that celebrated vitality, perseverance, and the power of teamwork.

With experience in maritime rescue, vessel construction and maintenance In extreme environments like Antarctica, Alex has participated in transatlantic voyages and expeditions to South Georgia and the White Continent. His technical knowledge, composure, and passion for exploration will be essential in guiding the team on this Arctic journey.

At TREX Exploring we have professionals who guarantee excellence in every project. Santalucía Seniors Peru Challenge '24 It was led by Carlos Martínez, a doctor specializing in Sports Medicine with extensive experience in expeditions with mountaineers Carlos Soria.
His mission was to prepare the team both physically and mentally, strengthening their cohesion and resilience. Carlos combines clinical practice, research, teaching, and work with elite athletes. His commitment to sports health has been key to the success and safety of our seniors.
