10K VALENCIA

The race was established in 2008 and has quickly become one of the fastest 10K races in the world and the best 10K in Spain in recent years. Moreover, Runners for Ethiopia, a charity organisation of the 10K Valencia Ibercaja, brings together a group of runners, coaches, triathletes and physiotherapists who travel to the African country to help young local athletes without resources.

The 10K Valencia Ibercaja reaches the top of the podium in the 10-kilometre distance, a position it almost achieved in previous years, followed by the popular San Silvestre Vallecana in Madrid. This classification is based on a scale that takes into account aspects such as the organisational capacity of each race, the length of time it has been on the RFEA (Royal Spanish Athletics Federation) calendar, the number of participants, the sporting level of the competition and the level of the athletes taking part. In fact, the 10K Valencia Ibercaja holds the current world record in the men’s 10K.
